Vacancy

As Night Shift Leader at Hotel Co 51, you are responsible for supervising the Night Auditors and making sure that all the tasks are completed during the night shifts. Since you are often the only Night Auditor during the shifts, you help and support in multiple roles - from Front Desk Attendant to Bartender and Chef - and you perform a number of different tasks.

Your most important task is performing the night audit and balancing daytime spending. This means that you fulfill the daily audit process, reconcile and close out financial activities based on the policies and procedures of Hotel Co 51. You also perform some administrative and organizational tasks, which vary from replying to emails and taking decisions about charging no-shows and cancellations to preparing the schedules for the Night Auditors.

You also serve as the hotel’s Front Desk representative and are responsible for checking the reservations. In the early morning hours, you make sure that everything is stocked and ready for the next day, including the breakfast buffet. In addition, you support the Night Auditors behind the bar and reception and check whether they do their tasks on time and according to the guidelines. This way you ensure that the hotel looks well maintained and your colleagues carry out their work properly and enjoyably.

During the shift, you usually supervise a couple of Night Auditors. In the morning, you hand over the shift to your supervisor, the Assistant Hotel Manager (Assistant Captain) or the Front Office Supervisor/Shiftleader.

For this position it is mandatory to have an eligible visa to work full-time in Germany: we do not sponsor visas for this role.

If you enjoy leading a team and solving problems and guest requests, and like the challenge of working independently during the night, then this is a job for you.

Firsthand experience

You come across a dissatisfied guest in the lobby. What do you do?

When you see an angry or upset guest, you start by approaching the situation in a calm and helpful manner. In that way, you don’t further upset the guest. Then, you try to find out what has caused them to be unhappy, making sure you have all the necessary details. Once you have figured out what is wrong, if possible you try to solve the problem. If you are not able to solve it immediately, you clearly inform the guest what steps you will take to deal with the problem as best you can.

Growth

At Hotel Co 51, you get the opportunity to follow in-house training programs. There are also promotion and career opportunitites in the hotel and within the hotel group, as well as cross-national experience opportunities through transfers.
