What will you do?

  • 20% Running the night audit and preparing the hotel for the following day

Vacancy

As Night Auditor at Residence Inn, you are responsible for running the night audit and making sure that everything is in order for the morning crew. You work during the night and mainly help at the reception, but it is also possible that you support behind the bar and at the (breakfast) buffet.

You start your shift by checking guests in, answering emails and guest inquiries and running all the necessary reports to make sure everything is set for the night audit. In addition, you balance the days accounts and manage all bills and payments correctly. You also help cleaning, restocking and preparing the bar and lobby and manage the hotel room inventory for the next day. During the night audit, you conduct a security check to ensure that everything is in place and order and that no disturbance occurs in te hotel.

In the early morning, you prepare the incoming reservations for the day. You print all the necessary lists for housekeeping and breakfast, and you make an End Of Day report for the Assistant Hotel Manager (Assistant Captain). In this report, you give an update about things that happened during the night. After this, you help with preparing and serving the breakfast buffet and assist guests with checkouts. At the end of your shift, you hand over the work to the morning crew, informing them of any outstanding questions or remaining problems.

During the shift, you usually work with one other Night Auditor and your supervisor the Night Shiftleader. In the morning, you hand over the shift to the Assistant Hotel Manager (Assistant Captain).

For this position it is mandatory to have an eligible visa to work full-time in Germany: we do not sponsor visas for this role.

Firsthand experience

You are going to write an End Of Day (EOD) report. How do you proceed?

In the End Of Day report, you write to the Assistant Hotel Manager (Assistant Captain) what happened during the night. What work have you completed and what tasks still need to be done? Have there been any particularities, such as a lot of nuisance in the corridors or a problem at the bar or the breakfast buffet? You write down these kinds of things so the Assistant Hotel Manager (Assistant Captain) is aware of them and takes action if necessary. This way, you also try to hand over the shift as best as possible to the crew that starts in the morning.
